Try Peninsula's Tuesday Challenge night

Peninsula Bridge Club is upgrading its Tuesday night session to appeal to competitively focused players - and invites players from other clubs to come try it out.

Before nearly every Tuesday night session at 6.40pm sharp will be an optional 15 minute lesson targeted at intermediate to advanced players and delivered by an expert player. The same expert player will lead an optional discussion of interesting hands in the session after they are played. Even with this post-mortem the night should finish by 10.30pm.

On some of the nights we additionally have special events:

  • First Tuesdays - our Padman Trophy annual competition
  • Third Tuesdays - our regular Swiss Pairs night
  • Fourth Tuesdays - our new Lawrence Competition with $200 prize to the best pair on each night

Check the Tuesday Challenge night flier for the full details, including the currently known expert players and their topics.

For all our members and visitors who are learning to play bridge, our April theme is "Opening leads against No Trump and suit contracts".

Our supervised sessions start with a practice hand on the table to review bidding.  We will then look at "the killer lead" and work through “declarer's plan of counting winners (in NT) and losers (in suit contracts)”.

  • Mondays 6.45pm –  with Sue
  • Tuesdays 2.15pm –  with Jo
  • Fridays 9.15 am –  with Terry
  • Cost: $5 Members, $10 Non-members.

Our two monthly lessons for members and visitors who want to improve, review or refresh their bridge game is "Review opening bids, declarer's plan and the killer lead"
