Thirty two teams from across Metro North region converged on host club Trumps Bridge Centre on Sunday 10 Mar to battle for their clubs under direction of Nick Hughes.

In the end Trumps managed to retain the Margaret Smale Interclub Teams Challenge trophy beating North Shore Bridge Club 12 to 11, well ahead of third placed Peninsula Bridge Club (who squeaked in ahead of Manly-Warringah Leagues Bridge Club).

The field was broken into five equal sized categories A-E. The top two played a Whist movement in one field, as did categories C and D. Category E played a normal head to head round robin. The top three teams in each category earned points for their club: 3 for first place, 2 for second and 1 for third.
